Richard Henry is a Consultant Gynaecologist based at Poole Hospital NHS Trust and The Dorset
Cancer Centre with a long established Private Practice encompassing Poole, Bournemouth and the wider Dorset Area.
After training as a Doctor at the University of London and qualifying at St Thomas’ Hospital in 1976, Subsequent Postgraduate training was undertaken in the UK and overseas. General Training and Surgical training posts were held in Bristol, Adelaide and back in London before specific training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Chelsea Hospital for Women, Queen Charlotte’s Maternity Hospital and the Royal Marsden Hospital.
He was a Registrar and Senior Registrar back at St Thomas’ Hospital, London with a final Position as Fellow in Gynaecological Oncology at Westmead Hospital, Sydney. He was appointed Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to Poole Hospital and the Royal Victoria Hospital/Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals in 1988. Richard is the most senior local Consultant in his field and now only practices Gynaecology.
